The facility at 6991 Appling Farms Parkway, Memphis, TN is located in the Appling Farms Corporate Park. The campus occupies 25,000 square feet containing furnished classrooms, laboratories, faculty and administrative offices, a library containing reference and reading materials related to the academic programs, a student lounge and restrooms. Maximum class size is 30 students. Enrollment Capacity: 300 students per session. Theory classes are limited in size to a 30:1 student/teacher ratio and labs are limited to a 20:1 ratio.

Diploma Programs

Cosmetology

Students who successfully complete this program will receive the education and training they need to prepare for the State Board Examination. Successful graduates who receive a professional cosmetology license will be able to perform any standard cosmetology service in a beauty salon. Students will learn the technical skills and theory of hair dressing, hair cutting, permanent weaving, hair coloring, manicuring, iron curling, and business. Students will also study hair structure and hair chemistry to better understand the chemicals used in cosmetology.

 

Homeland Security

This program is designed to meet the need for trained professionals in the area of homeland security on a federal, state and local basis. The program preparation will qualify the graduates for entry level position in fields related to Homeland Security. The courses cover information security, personal and business security, emergency preparedness, and recovery processes. The completion of this program can assist the student’s preparation for the CPSP – Certified Public Safety Profession (ACFEI) certification.

 

Information Systems Security

This program is designed to meet the ever-increasing need for trained computer professionals in the area of information systems security. The program preparation will qualify the graduates for entry level position in fields related to Information Systems Security. The program addresses the more popular security needs today and focuses on business security issues. The completion of this program will assist the student’s preparation for the Security+ and CISSP certifications.



Medical Assistant

This program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position as a medical assistant performing medical procedures, lab techniques, and front office duties. All graduates of the Medical Assistant program are eligible for certification by the American Medical Technologist (AMT) as a Registered Medical Assistant after passing the AMT examination or for certification by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) as a Certified Medical Assistant after passing the NCCT examination.

 

Programming and Data Simulation

This program is designed to meet the ever-increasing need for trained computer professionals in the area of programming and data visualization. The program preparation will qualify the graduates for entry level position in fields related to Programming and Data Simulation. These courses provide an introduction to VB programming, fundamentals of data visualization and design, advanced VB programming concepts, and data design using Flash. Graduates from the Programming and Data Visualization will have the basic knowledge and skills to perform duties that would be required of an entry-level employee in the areas of Visual Basic programming, data visualization, and data analysis. Program content is also designed to assist in the student’s preparation for the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification. NOTE: Students must sit for the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) exam to meet graduation requirements for this program.

 

Wireless Communication

This program is designed to meet the ever-increasing need for trained computer professionals in the area of wireless communication. The program preparation will qualify the graduates for entry level position in fields related to Wireless Communications. The program addresses the use, configuration and programming of the most popular mobile and wireless devices. The completion of this program will assist the student’s preparation for the CWNA – Certified Wireless Network Administrator and the CWSP – Certified Wireless Security Professional.

Diesel Mechanic

This program is designed to prepare the graduate in theory and working knowledge for entry-level employment as a diesel mechanic, diesel technician, working on heavy trucks in a fleet or dealership or similar related employment within the trucking or transportation industry.
